The Coach

For as long as I can remember I wanted to work with people, helping them to navigate struggles and changes and life improvements. I wanted to help people work better as teams, become better leaders and partners and to have better lives. Without going into any gory details, it stems from my history in an abusive, alcoholic household. My own recovery and growth with those who are destined to help others was certainly instrumental in my life choices. But somehow, I also know that I was born with a passion and a talent that I had to honor. So, when I went to college I fell in love with Psychology. Shortly after that I fell in love with a Psychologist. The rest is History! Getting a degree in Psychology and working to create and keep thriving a private practice, alongside my Licensed Psychologist husband. We worked as a team, doing individual therapy, couples counseling, and group counseling. Kent and I worked with people struggling with a variety of issues, from relationship problems to addiction to trauma, and sometimes just simple behavioral changes. We both loved what we did and helped hundreds of people. I definitely worked my way up the old fashioned way through apprenticeship and continuing education and sometimes faith. But I had the privilege of working with many individuals and with groups and then by taking my Psychology and People Skills into businesses. After all, people are people and issues are issues. I spent years becoming an expert in teaching communication and emotional intelligence and helping businesses to create world class cultures where people were happy to be at work and felt like they were contributing.
